BREAKING: Second Ostrich Found Dead, Believed to Have Been Shot Farmers at the ostrich farm the Canadian government plans to cull woke up to another heartbreaking scene: a second bird appears to have been shot dead overnight.
“The shot entered through its ear and went down its neck. It was one of our biggest, most beautiful roosters. We’re going to fully investigate today,” said farmer Katie Pastiney.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) plans to cull hundreds of ostriches at the Universal Ostrich Farm in Edgewood, BC, despite many appearing healthy. The farmers are demanding that the CFIA test the birds, saying they would face hefty fines or up to six months in jail if they attempted to test them themselves.
