I wanted to provide you all with an update regarding our legal proceedings related to the CFIA affidavits. As you may know, the court has set critical deadlines that we must adhere to in order to effectively advocate for our ostriches.
- Cross-Examination Deadline: March 18th
- Written Argument Deadline: April 1st
- April 14th to the 17th Judicial Review
As many of you know, we are currently facing a challenging situation, as the CFIA has initiated measures that threaten the lives of our hundreds of ostriches that are in their 20s and 30 years of age. They hold decades of genetics and antibodies that can be used to help stabilize viral outbreaks and even treat disease. We believe that with your support, we can successfully challenge these decisions and ensure the safety of our animals and the science to help protect natural immunity.
Our attorney is actively navigating the legal landscape and defend our rights. However, legal fees are accumulating quickly as this case grows and grows fighting the antics of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. We need your help to cover these costs and continue our fight.
