URGENT UPDATE – OUR FIGHT FOR JUSTICE CONTINUES

We are in the fight of a century to protect our farm (research facility), our animals and the future of farming. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is not only pushing for mass culling of our healthy Ostriches (that is based only on 2 PCR tests December 30th) but have continued to threaten us with a $200,000 fine and/ or 6 months in jail if we pursued with 3rd party testing.

This is a direct attack on transparency and science.

CRITICAL POINTS YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Only 2 PCR Test: CFIA has only conducted two PCR tests and refuse to re-test our animals despite 51 days of clear health and herd immunity
• 65 Days in Quarantine: Our Ostriches have remained healthy for nearly 2 months, proving that natural immunity is working
• Mass culling is not the answer: The “stamping out” policy that CFIA is relying on to make these decisions is based on outdated trading partner policies that do nothing t advance animal or human health. What the policy IS DOING is wiping out natural immunity, which is the natural resistance and would lead to infectious diseases spreading faster with more devastating effects. No natural immunity in animals would set off a chain reaction leading t the breakdown of ecosystems, food webs, and even human survival.
• H5N1 is being spread by migratory birds: This virus is being carried across Canada and the world by migratory birds and when CFIA was asked about this “what are you going to do about the 300 Mallard ducks in our field?” they chuckled and said “that’s Wildlife! what are you going to do kill all the wild birds in the world?” well CFIA tell us how the 400 Ostriches hold the key to the survival of the world when they are flightless and we have science that could help! We must find new ways to manage and treat diseases instead of killing immune animals.
• Ostrich Antibodies = Groundbreaking Science: Our Ostriches have developed antibodies with the potential to revolutionize how we fight diseases and pandemics. Instead of using this science to help humanity , CFIA wants our healthy immune animals killed.

OUR LEGAL BATTLE INTENSIFIES

• Judicial Review: April 14-17
• CFIA Submission Deadline end of this week
• Cross Examination March 17th – 18th

Thanks to all of your incredible generosity, we have already raised and paid $59,000 in legal fees. However, to continue this battle, we must raise another $41,000 by next week.
